Lyra-Leah Revesz Obituary

Lyra-Leah (Burns) Revesz, age 76, born in Detroit, raised in St. Clair Shores passed away on Tuesday September 27, 2016. Daughter of the late John R. and Roberta Denise (Hartman) Burns. Beloved wife of Richard B. Revesz, loving mother of Jessica Lee (Michael) Cece and Lydia Denise Revesz (Ryan Thomason). Grandmother to Emily Elizabeth Cece, Jeffrey Michael Cece and Kate Lynn Cece. Sister of the late Jean Burns Freeman Green, the late Adalyn Burns and the late Bonnie Burns Barbret. Aunt to over two dozen nieces and nephews. Lee was a dedicated teacher with a Bachelor and Masters Degree from Central Michigan University. She taught as a student teacher at Vassar High School in 1962, where she met her future husband who was a senior classman. They renewed their acquaintance several years later and courted by mail, as Richard was a Medic in the US Air Force stationed in Loring AFB, Maine. They were married on July 10, 1965 at First Bethany United Church of Christ in St. Clair Shores, MI. After Richard's separation from the Air Force, they lived a short time in Ferndale, then in Royal Oak until 1974, when they moved back to Ferndale where they lived since 1974. Lee joined the English Department at Ferndale High School in 1966, after Richard had been transferred to Goose AB, Labrador for the last 15 months of his enlistment. Lee loved her interactions with her students over the years, as well as her colleagues on the faculty. She often said that the only thing she didn't miss was the paperwork. Visitation Friday 4pm-8pm at the funeral Home. Services Saturday 10 am.
